Industrial Floor Sweepers

Industrial Floor Sweepers: What do you need to know?

There is probably no more important area to be cleaned in an industrial environment than the floor. A poorly cleaned floor is unattractive and potentially dangerous, so cleaning it is a major part of any good housekeeping regime. To achieve good standards of cleanliness there are, fortunately,  a range of cleaning machines and a particularly useful one is the industrial floor sweeper.

Industrial Floor Sweeper – How it works

We are all familiar with the broom and how the friction of the bristles lifts the dirt, which is then collected and removed. The industrial floor sweeper works in a similar way in that instead of a broom head to sweep the debris, rotary brushes are used which act on the floor surface. The brushes are part of a machine which collects the dislodged dirt into a hopper for later disposal. The operation of the machine is controlled by the operator at the flick of a switch which means less fatigue and more efficient cleaning.

Industrial Floor Sweeper – Different types.

Because the type and surface area of floors fall within a wide range, so there are a variety of industrial floor sweepers suitable for the job. The main difference is how they are operated; they can be ride on (like the Edge A13 75 industrial floor sweeper) or pedestrian operated (such as the Edge 512/712 industrial floor sweeper)  i.e. the operator walks behind the machine. The motive power can be different such as using rechargeable batteries or an engine perhaps diesel powered. There may be an additional vacuum facility to assist with collection or as a separate wand for extra cleaning power. The physical size is important when selecting for a particular job as it may not just be the overall dimensions that are important, but things like the width where narrow passages are to be cleaned.

The range of industrial floor sweepers available in the market is vast and when selecting your machine contact B&G Cleaning first to make sure you get the right equipment at the right price.
