Floor Steam Cleaner

Floors are difficult to keep clean at the best of times and there are various machines to help achieve a decent level of cleanliness. No matter how good the floor sweeper, scrubber dryer or vacuum cleaner is, if an even higher level of hygienic cleaning is required, the floor steam cleaner may be the option.

Floor Steam Cleaner – How it Works

A floor steam cleaner is a version of a dry steam cleaner. In a dry steam cleaner water is heated above boiling point, up to 170oC, which means it has a very low water content hence “dry steam”. In a pressure washer with a steam option, the steam has a high water content and is known as “wet steam” and although it is adequate for some cleaning processes, it is not as effective. The dry steam, when it is applied to a surface , effectively melts and liquefies grease and dirt making it easy to remove, which with a floor steam cleaner is achieved through vacuum.

Floor Steam Cleaner – Advantages

To get a thoroughly clean floor area, steam penetrates the nook and crannies to work on the detritus at a molecular level. The cleaning power of steam works at a deeper level than that which is achievable by other methods. Because steam by itself is an excellent cleaning agent, the need to use chemicals and detergents is vastly reduced which is great for the environment and for the health and safety of the operator. The use of water, which is also an environmental concern, is minimal when compared with other methods of cleaning such as pressure washing. The floor steam cleaner often has a range of attachments, similar to a vacuum cleaner, to aid the cleaning process and achieve the highest possible standard of hygiene.
