Chemical Free Cleaning

Chemical free cleaning is something of a misnomer as all cleaning products, even natural ones, contain chemicals. The concerns arise about the manufactured synthetic chemical cleaning products that are widely available for domestic and commercial use. There is a growing sense that these products are harmful to the environment and the person using them, and also that they can promote an allergic reaction. In the last few years there has been a re-examination of the old methods of cleaning, such as vinegar, lemon juice, baking soda etc. and there are commercially marketed products using this type of old fashioned remedy

Chemical Free Cleaning using Water

Water is the common factor required in most cleaning. The perceived problems arise from the use of additional cleaning agents to clean surfaces. Sometimes there is nothing that can obviously be done; for instance if a surface has to be sanitised in a food or healthcare environment, it would be difficult not to use a propriety product that has been tested and proved. When washing down however if a hot water pressure washer were to be used it may be that the pressurised hot water applied at a sufficient rate may be enough on its own to clean adequately. Another feature of some pressure washers, where additional cleaning power is required, is the ability to create steam to achieve deeper sanitation.

Chemical Free Cleaning using a Steam Cleaner

The steam from a pressure washer although useful in some circumstances may not be sufficient to thoroughly cleanse the surface. If this is the case then a dry steam cleaner would be a better option. This machine has been developed to apply pressure to a body of water to raise its boiling point and create super heated steam. The advantage of this method is that a dry steam is created rather than a wet steam from a pressure washer, with consequently improved cleansing qualities. The benefits of using steam in this way are that it penetrates deep into the surface being cleaned and gets into the nooks and crannies that may be missed by other cleaning methods; killing bacteria and enabling grease and grime to be wiped away. This system will certainly reduce, if not remove altogether the need for harsh chemicals.
